A Lesson in Reflection

Obayd, do you know why this hundred petaled rose laughs at daybreak all around the meadow? Despite the tight knot of its bud and its aching heart, there is a wisdom in it; it does not laugh at the passing breeze. Seeing how steady the sky stands and how the world runs on, it laughs at its own brief life, and at our heedlessness.
Explanation: The rose's laughter is a paradox: it blooms briefly yet mocks our blindness to how fleeting our own lives are while the world endures.
