Good Morning to You, My Chalabi

Good morning to you, my Chalabi, and blessings on your tongue. Greet me, for you are my dear soul; Chalabi, don't forget me. Chalabi, you are my king, my life, the one who steals my heart. Chalabi, beloved of my soul, Chalabi, don't forget me. Chalabi, you are my king and lord, Chalabi, you take my hand. Chalabi, you delight my heart, Chalabi, don't forget me. I love you, come and speak, Chalabi, you take my hand. Ask after my wretched state, Chalabi, don't forget me. Chalabi, king of the world, Chalabi, you are the soul of my soul. Chalabi, you are neither this nor that; Chalabi, don't forget me. My soul burns for you; to me, you are everything. Chalabi, you are my heart and my life; Chalabi, don't forget me. Qasem lays down his life for you, heart and soul offered to your path. By God, by your moonlike face, Chalabi, don't forget me.
Explanation: The poem mixes Persian and Turkish phrases; 'Chalabi' is a term of respect and endearment, and 'Qasem' is the poet's own name signed into the final couplet.
