A Thousand Thanks

A Thousand Thanks

A thousand thanks to God, that in all things my trust rests always on his generosity. A thousand kindnesses reach my soul from the Beloved, and what delights me is this: he knows I lean on him. And if, instead of kindness, some reproach should come, I am still glad, for the master shaped that trial for me.
Explanation: The 'Beloved' (habib) here refers to God. The poet frames even hardship as the deliberate work of a wise teacher.
