Abd al-Baqi Tabib Isfahani (died 1168 or 1171 AH) was one of the poets of the Bazgasht (Literary Return) style in Iran, the chief physician (hakim-bashi) of Nader Shah Afshar, and the mayor (kalantar) of Isfahan. He was the son of Mirza Muhammad Rahim Tabib Isfahani, the chief physician of Shah Sultan Husayn Safavi, and a member of the family of Hakim Salman. Tabib Isfahani belonged to the Musavi sayyids of Isfahan. His ancestors migrated from Jahrom to Isfahan during the reign of Shah Abbas I Safavi and settled in that city. His father, Mirza Muhammad Rahim Tabib Isfahani, was the chief physician of Shah Sultan Husayn Safavi, and he himself was a physician and a companion of Nader Shah Afshar. After Nader Shah, he became the mayor of Isfahan, and after a time he handed over this position to his brother Mirza Abd al-Wahhab, devoting himself to the company of the poets and men of letters of Isfahan, including Hatef, Asheq, Azar, Moshtaq, and Sahba.
