Quatrain 20

All their lives these men have patched worn rags together, scraping out a bare living through a thousand tricks. On the day of judgment, for all their sins, perhaps they won't be burned, for they have already burned.
Explanation: The final line plays on 'burning': having suffered so much hardship in life, these poor men may be spared the fire of hell.
