There Is No Escape From Death
How could you ever flee from the hand of death? Your only refuge will be the grave, the house of rest.

Even if you bloom in life's garden like a rose, thorns will spring from the dust of your grave.
Begging your friends will do you no good; only your deeds will stand by you again.
Many a rider there will end up on foot, and many who walked will there be mounted high.
Many a prince there will become a captive, and many a captive will hold command.
Many a hypocrite preacher and great leader will stand ashamed on the day of reckoning.
Why not spare a thought for the hour of resurrection, when the heedless will be in a wretched state?
You seek paradise but will not shun sin? Paradise will be the home of the God-fearing.
Turn from falsehood and worship the truth like a man; what work could be better than devotion to truth?
Prepare for the journey, for the travelers have gone; Saadi's words will remain as a keepsake of you.
Every drop of the forbidden will bring you torment; every atom of the lawful will be counted in your favor.
