In Praise of the Chief Minister

This world is no lasting home; blessed is the one who stores up joy for the day to come. Like the great minister, the learned one, the pure, the righteous, the most exalted, the most glorious. A scale of justice that never tips or strays; he wrongs no one except those who first do wrong. Through his kindness he brought us glad tidings of hope, and traded this passing world for an everlasting rule. Whenever you hope, hope for the best of those to be hoped in; and when you aim, aim for the finest goal. May the lives of people stretch on beneath his shelter, and may he live forever in the sweetest, most abundant ease. These are the pure qualities that describe him: Muhammad son of Muhammad son of Muhammad. Does anyone imagine that whoever walks a path is rightly guided? No, only the one God guides is truly guided.
Explanation: The poem is entirely in Arabic, a panegyric to the minister named Muhammad son of Muhammad son of Muhammad. Some lines are partly illegible in the source.
