Story No. 8

I saw a Bedouin telling his son: My boy, on the Day of Judgment they will ask you what you have done, not who your father is. In other words, they will question you about your own deeds, not about whose child you are. The cloth that drapes the Kaaba, the one people kiss, did not earn its fame from any noble silkworm. It simply sat beside something precious for a few days, and so, naturally, it too became honored.
Explanation: The Kaaba's covering cloth is ordinary fabric that gains its holiness only from proximity to the sacred, a metaphor for how worth comes from one's own conduct and company, not lineage.
