Story 17

In much the same way, a traveler was lost on a vast open plain. His food and strength had run out, though he carried a few coins on him. He wandered far but found no path anywhere, and so he died in agony. A group of people came upon him and saw the coins laid before his face, and written in the dust: Even if he owns all the pure gold coins in the world, a man with no provisions cannot take a single step. For the starving pauper stranded in the desert, a boiled turnip is worth more than raw silver.
Explanation: 'Zar-e Ja'fari' refers to a famously pure, high-quality gold coin; the point is that wealth is useless without the means to survive.
