The Beginning

The pure God shaped you out of dust, so, servant, stay as humble as the earth. Don't be greedy, world-burning, or defiant; you were made from earth, not fire. When the terrible fire raised its neck in pride, the earth laid itself down in humility. Because the fire chose arrogance and the earth chose meekness, one became a demon, the other became a human being.
