A Tale of the Physician

In Merv there was a physician with a face like a fairy's, whose figure stood tall as a cypress in the garden of the heart. She had no idea of the wounds she left in aching hearts, nor any notice of her own captivating, languid eyes. A lovesick stranger tells the story: for a while my head was happily busy with a physician. I did not even want to get well, for then my physician would come to me no more. How many a strong, commanding mind the madness of love has forced into submission. Once passion has boxed reason on the ears, good sense can no longer lift its head again.
Explanation: The physician is a beautiful woman; the patient prefers staying ill so her visits continue. 'Boxing reason on the ears' renders an idiom for love overpowering the intellect.
