Homam's Ghazal

I saw your drunken eyes and lost myself. Tell me: is there still a heart in me that can speak? My heart is already gone, and I fear the day when even your love slips from my grasp, unfulfilled. This sweet promise of a living heart, will your lips grant it to me, or leave me broken? Be kind to your lover for a moment; from whom else could such kindness ever be learned? If one day I could see your lovely face, my tongue would fall silent before the whole town. If Homam gives up his life for love of you, say of him: that young man died and found release. Turn your ear my way and see behind you: by your scent this weary one is drunk, past all shame.
Explanation: Several lines contain dialect or corrupted words that are hard to read with certainty; the translation follows the most plausible sense supported by the summary.
