Your attributes are the veil over the face of your essence; your pure essence is what makes those attributes appear. When the sun of your face began to shine, all darkness was destroyed by its light. Your lips breathed upon a dead world, and from that breath it found new life. That world burst into clamor and motion, like dust particles dancing before the sun of your face. A whole world was nothing, mere non-existence; your life-giving lips brought it into being. Every motion in the world comes from you; otherwise non-existence stays still and fixed. How would the poor world have grown rich, if you had not drawn out the alms from your treasure? And what they call Adam is a copy of the world and the manifestation of the essence. Maghrebi, what they call the world is only the reflection of your face in a mirror.
Explanation: Maghrebi is the poet's own pen name, used in the closing couplet as is customary in Persian ghazals. The 'dust particles dancing before the sun' evokes tiny motes made visible only in a sunbeam, a classic image of creatures existing only through the divine light.
