In Praise of the Prophet, Peace Be Upon Him
The foremost of the world, the sun of faith and law,
the chosen one of Adam's line, the Prophet of all messengers.
His soul swims in the sea of prophethood;
the verse 'I have a time with God' was spoken in his honor.
His pure spirit is a mine of truth and clarity,
Mustafa, the candle in the hall of guidance.
Even the universal intellect fell behind on his ascent;
God set his crown with the words 'By your life.'
The dawn of God's light, the goal of all things,
leader of the law, sovereign of the messengers.
His name erased the sin of Adam;
both worlds drink but a sip from his cup.
The choice of all prophets, without dispute,
the pride of the house of Abd Manaf.
You who make the soul's ring shine with your final saintship,
light of God, mercy to all the worlds.
I make no claim to be your son, Prophet;
I am dust on your path, so accept me, accept me.
I make no claim of sonship, yet
on the ground of your street my head lies low as the dust.
You by whose law Qasemi finds his pride,
intercessor of the community, messenger of the Creator.
Your four companions are the guides of humans and spirits,
each one, in his own age, a master of his time.
All four were the builders of the sacred law,
all four were royal falcons of the truth.
A hundred thousand mercies from the abode of peace
upon their pure souls, and peace be with them.
