On Knowing Greed

When desire piles onto the love of the world, your fortune turns up cursed within your own soul. Doubt and suspicion are the root of greed, my son; let me tell you the roots of it, one by one. Know that love of religion is the source of doubt and hesitation; once you grasp this, I will tell you what comes next. The root of loving this base world springs from lust; and honestly, this deep sickness has little cure. This is a glimmer of inborn ignorance; and a person's ignorance comes from the wrath of the Lord of all worlds.
