Section 23
As the third pairing, Siamak came out from the Turanian army to face Garazeh on the battlefield.
They advanced with spears in hand, roaring like maddened elephants.
Full of fight and burning with hatred, they then took up their heavy maces.
They raged like battle lions, hammering blows down upon each other's heads.
Their tongues split from thirst; that grueling struggle grew tight and desperate.
They dismounted and grappled, kicking up clouds of dust in their fury.
Garazeh struck with the force of a lion and, quick as the wind, brought him down.
He slammed him against the ground so hard that his bones shattered and the life left his body.
Right then Garazeh tied him to a horse and, like blazing fire, mounted his own saddle.
Then he seized Siamak's horse and rode up the field as if drunk with triumph.
The lucky banner in his hand, he was proud and joyful, his enemy laid low.
Roaring, seething, and shouting, they cheered praise upon their champion.
