In Praise of the Radiant Prophets
A flood of greetings to the bright Zarhoosh,
from whose name the prophet Zoroaster arose.
If you would speak the language of heroes,
know Zoroaster as a shining intellect.
Both 'shet' and 'shid' carry the meaning of greatness,
like the sun, whose light is immense.
He is also Hooshang, the clever and resolute,
who struck fire out of two stones.
He is also Idris of blessed nature,
who laid down the rule of wisdom in the world.
He not only crossed beyond the heavens,
but chose a place forever in paradise.
In Arabic, know Zarhoosh as Idris,
whom the Greeks called Hermes.
He foretold the seal of the prophets,
and spoke of Moses, Jesus, and the others too.
He said: the great Saoshyant will come
and make the watering place of sheep and wolf one and the same.
He will lay open the path of the pure God,
and sweep the devil from the face of the earth.
He will conquer the world with the sword,
so that it embraces the good religion.
First in nature, last in the reckoning,
stands the renowned Astvat-ereta.
For the prophet of God is always one;
if there is any difference, it is only slight.
